History narrated in the book begins a week in which the author, Peter Kelder, is relaxing on a park bench, reading the evening paper.


An old gentleman sitting next to and engages him in conversation. The man looks like Colonel Bradford, a retired English army officer. His career has led him down to the most remote corners of the globe, and Colonel Bradford captivates the interest of Kelder with tales of his adventures. The two take their leave with the promise to meet again. Later, meet regularly, and eventually forge a solid friendship. One evening, when they are together, the colonel announced a surprising decision it took. When he was stationed in India, some years before, had heard a strange story and memorable that covered the blade of a monastery located somewhere wild and remote Tibetan Himalayas. In the monastery, an ancient wisdom passed down for thousands of years promising solution to one of the great mysteries of the world. According to legend, the lamas of the monastery were the heirs of the secret of the Fountain of Youth.


Colonel was impressed and intrigued by these stories and began to gather information on ways to reach that location. His desire to find the Fountain of Youth urged him to return to India. They spent many years in silence, until one day a letter announced that the colonel had achieved his goal and was about to return. A short time later, when the two friends found themselves, Kelder has witnessed an amazing transformation. Bradford, unexpectedly, shows the appearance "that the Colonel must have had in his youth, long ago. Instead of a stooped old man, pale with a cane, he saw a tall figure standing.

He florid face and hair grows thicker and blacks with occasional traces of gray. "


Colonel Bradford proceeded to tell his friend all excited about what had happened during his prolonged absence. He spoke of years of struggles and efforts finally rewarded by success: the discovery of the remote Tibetan monastery where the occupants never gets old.

"For the first few weeks after my arrival," the colonel said, "I felt like a fish out of water." Everything I saw was a source of wonder for me, sometimes I could hardly believe my eyes. Soon, my health began to improve.

I could sleep soundly at night, and every morning I woke up feeling more fresh and energetic. Soon, I realized that my walking stick I had only needed when hiking in the mountains. "

In the weeks and months following my appearance continued to improve, and the change became increasingly apparent to all those who knew me .....
